Reading Athletic Club offers a variety of coaching sessions throughout the year. These sessions provide valuable training opportunities for members who are interested in athletics. The club has a range of coaches who specialise in different disciplines, ensuring that there is something for everyone.
The main club training sessions take place at Palmer Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The start time for these sessions can vary, depending on the coach and discipline. It could be as early as 5.30 pm or as late as 8 pm. During these sessions, the entire track is utilised, and endurance athletes also have the option to run in the park and the surrounding area. Parents are more than welcome to come and watch from the stands or relax in the clubhouse, where they can grab a refreshing drink.
For our younger athletes, there is an extra session on Friday evenings from 5.15 pm to 6.15 pm. This session is specifically designed to cater to their needs and provide focused training.
If Sunday training is more convenient for you, some coaches also offer an additional session on Sunday mornings at Palmer Park. These sessions are usually held between 10 am and 12 pm. However, it's important to check with your coach about the availability of Sunday sessions, as they may vary.
During the winter evenings, when the weather is not as favourable, many coaches opt for indoor training sessions. These sessions are typically held at local schools. Your coach will let you know if indoor training is a part of your program and will provide you with all the necessary details about the timing and location.
Please keep in mind that the clubhouse may not always be open during Sunday morning sessions. Therefore, it is recommended that you check its availability beforehand.
These coaching sessions are an excellent opportunity for athletes of all levels to enhance their skills and reach their full potential. So, come and join Reading Athletic Club in their pursuit of excellence in athletics!
