Reading Athletic Club

Welcome to Reading Athletic Club, established in 1881. With a long and successful history, we have had the privilege of having many County, National, International, Commonwealth, and Olympic Champions as members. Some notable names include Harry Whittle, E. H.

Oliver, W. E. N. Breach, Ann Packer, Beverley Callender, Kathy Cook, and Gerry Stevens.

These athletes have not only brought glory to our club but have also set records, some of which still stand today. One such record is the Senior Men's Long Jump record, which was set in 1937.

Although we take pride in our past achievements, we are equally enthusiastic about the present and the future. Our current members have embraced the club's rich tradition and are producing champion athletes who excel in various events. We believe in providing our athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest level, and to achieve this, we participate in several leagues. These leagues include the National Athletic League, Southern Athletic League, Youth Development League, Alder Valley Boys League, Alder Valley Girls League, Southern Vets League, Western Division, Hampshire Cross Country League, and Berkshire Sports Hall League.

At Reading Athletic Club, we have a thriving community of athletes who continuously strive to improve and reach their full potential. We are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for athletes of all ages and abilities.
