The Club de Plein Air in La Minerve, known as Plein Air et Sports, is a vibrant ski club dedicated to outdoor activities in both summer and winter. In the winter, the club offers various activities such as skating, sliding, and a players' room open from 10 am to 10 pm when the skating rinks are open. Patrons are reminded that hockey sticks are prohibited on the small ice rink and ice trail, except for special events. The sliding area, which opened on December 8, 2023, is maintained based on the amount of snowfall and requires users to use the municipality's tubes for safety and efficiency.
For those who prefer cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, the Club de Plein Air La Minerve manages approximately 35 km of trails. Access to the village relay is mandatory, with membership cards available for purchase at $45 for adults, $30 for students, and $6 for children. The club also offers a 3 km Village Tour walking trail, created with the help of local property owners. Dogs must be leashed, and visitors are encouraged to respect the environment by not littering and staying on designated paths.
An additional 4 km Poupard Trail, entirely through the woods, invites hikers and snowshoers to explore the enchanting landscape. Access to this trail is also restricted to pedestrians only, with animals required to be on a leash. The club recently modified the Poupard Trail due to private property concerns, but the new layout still offers a beautiful 4 km route for nature lovers. Trail maps are available at tourist information kiosks, the Village Relay, and the town hall.
The Club de Plein Air La Minerve provides a welcoming and safe environment for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, promoting an active lifestyle in the beautiful landscapes of La Minerve. With a variety of activities and trails to explore, the club is a must-visit destination for those seeking adventure and fun in the great outdoors.
