Burton Sailing Club organises a variety of series events for its club members to enjoy throughout the year. These events cater to different classes of boats and are governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing and the Sailing Instructions of the club.
The 2024 calendar is packed with exciting series, including the Early Spring Sundays, Spring Sundays, Summer Sundays, Winter Sundays, as well as Wednesday (Early) and Wednesday (Late) evening races. Super Sundays will also feature pursuit races and handicap races for added excitement.
Handicap racing will make use of the Portsmouth Yardstick handicaps, allowing helms to switch boats and rigs within a series. The club may adjust racing start times or cancel races on open event Sundays to accommodate visiting fleets, with updates provided through the club's website and social media channels.
