Cliffside Climbing Gym, located in Kamloops, is a renowned gym known for its friendly and welcoming environment. Owned by former Youth Canadian National Team climbers Sabrina and Simon Griffin, the gym underwent several renovations after they purchased it in 2008. These renovations resulted in a cleaner and brighter space that caters to climbers of all ages and abilities.
Established in the early 90s, Cliffside was one of the first climbing gyms in BC, created to provide outdoor enthusiasts with a way to stay active during the winter months. Over the years, it has become a popular venue for birthday parties, drop-ins, and regular members. Despite its small size, Cliffside is often described as the friendliest climbing gym in the area.
The staff at Cliffside are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help climbers of all levels. Owners Sabrina and Simon can often be found behind the front desk or on the gym floor, sharing their passion for climbing with anyone eager to learn. The gym features 25 ropes with a minimum of 50 routes, two caves (one exclusively for members), campus boards, free weights, and more.
Cliffside has recently undergone renovations, including a new sitting area, change rooms, party room, and freshly painted walls. Climbers can enjoy a variety of routes of all levels, as well as bouldering caves and other training facilities. The gym also hosts events such as the REEL ROCK Film Fest and Boulderama Comp.
