Pete here, organiser of our cherished Chudleigh Swimming Pool. He wanted to send a quick note to everyone in the sports community to highlight what’s on offer at the pool and encourage you all to make the most of it.
Located in Chudleigh, just a stone's throw from Newton Abbot, the pool is the perfect spot for a swim, relaxation, and some family fun. It features a 20-metre long and 8-metre wide swimming area, with a depth ranging from 1 metre to 1.4 metres, ideal for both new and experienced swimmers. The water is kept at a pleasant 28 degrees Celsius, partly heated by solar panels.
Chudleigh Swimming Pool is committed to accessibility. There’s a specially designed changing room and ramped access so everyone can enjoy, regardless of physical ability.
For those of you into lane swimming, there are two lanes (20m x 4m) available. One for slower swimmers and another for the speedsters. Lane swimming sessions are £5.50, with spectators charged £1. Monthly cards are also available – £49.50 for adults and £33.75 for children/concessions.
General swimming sessions are great for all, costing £5 for adults, £3.75 for children, and £1 for spectators. Families can grab a package deal for £15, which covers two adults and two kids. Under 3s swim for free. There are also special sessions for kids under 8, with a single child and one adult entry at £5, and a family package at £8.50.
Planning a special event? You can hire the pool privately via the BookWhen system. Rates start from £50 for up to 32 attendees (includes one lifeguard) and go up to £65 for up to 59 attendees (two lifeguards). Fancy a BBQ? That’s an extra £10 – gas provided thanks to Andy at Chudleigh DIY.
Chudleigh Swimming Pool also offers lots of other sessions. There’s Rookie Lifeguards for teaching kids water safety, swimming lessons for all ages, stroke improvement sessions, and Aquafit HIIT classes for those 16 and over.
