Carly Town Yoga

Carly Town Yoga offers a variety of yoga classes in Kenley, serving the Coulsdon/Kenley/Caterham/Purley area and beyond. Carly is a highly qualified yoga instructor with specialised training in pregnancy, postnatal, and mummy and baby yoga. She is also a registered children's nurse and has a postgraduate degree in community public health.

Carly's teaching style focuses on creating a space for calm connexion with the breath, body, and self. She aims to provide a safe environment for students to explore their bodies and feel reassured that wherever they are in their practise is exactly where they need to be. Carly encourages curiosity, playfulness, and self-compassion, while also challenging students to listen to their inner knowing and take what they need from her guidance.

Carly's classes offer a combination of anatomical and philosophical cues, with constant reminders to breathe consciously. She provides variations to suit all abilities and has a knack for poor left/right differentiation. Carly's qualifications include a 200-hour Yoga London certification in Ashtanga Vinyasa, an 85-hour certification in pregnancy, postnatal, and mummy and baby yoga from Sally Parkes, and a 25-hour certification in advanced postnatal yoga. She is also a registered hypnobirthing teacher and a mental health first-aider for adults, children, and young people.

In addition to teaching yoga, Carly is a specialist paediatric nurse with 12 years of experience. She is passionate about nature and believes that spending time outdoors is essential for maintaining a healthy mental state. Carly's love for movement and sport led her to yoga, initially as a way to heal from heartbreak, grief, and anxiety. After completing a 30-day introductory offer, she fell in love with the practise and has been dedicated to yoga ever since.

Yoga has not only helped Carly heal, but also reconnect with herself, others, and her environment in a more meaningful and authentic way.

While Carly is currently on a short maternity break to welcome her second child, she plans to resume offering postnatal, baby & me, and pregnancy yoga, as well as hypnobirthing group sessions in the spring of 2024. In the meantime, Carly has been running Baby & Me Postnatal Yoga courses and Pregnancy Yoga in Whyteleafe and Kenley, as well as the popular Mamas Rest monthly yoga and relaxation circle for moms. She can also be found leading the pregnancy and postnatal yoga offering at Croydon Yoga Hub, in addition to teaching more dynamic vinyasa and power flow classes.
