At 23, seeking knowledge and adventure, he travelled to North America, passing through significant capoeira sites including Salvador, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Manaus, and Venezuela. His true mission crystallised in Colombia, where he dedicated 18 years to establishing capoeira as his profession.
In 1997, Mestre Aranha founded the first Capoeira Academy in Bogotá, Colombia, under “Nativos de Minas,” creating a formidable capoeira community across the country. Now based in London, he continues his legacy through Capoeira Nativos London.
