One of the standout programmes offered at Cape Performing Arts is Ready Set Dance. As seen on Nick Jr, Ready Set Dance is a one-hour combo class that incorporates Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Singing, and Music for children aged 2–5 years. This specially designed programme aims to foster coordination, creativity, and confidence in children while exploring all aspects of dance. Lead by inspiring and qualified teachers, Ready Set Dance is considered the leading preschool dance programme in Australia, promising an enriching introduction to the performing arts for young groovers.
Cape Performing Arts offers multiple locations to cater to students from different areas. The main studio is located at 7/84-86 Centennial Circuit in Byron Bay, NSW. Additionally, there are studios at 73 Byron Street in Bangalow, NSW, and 1 Mackney Lane in Lennox Head, NSW. The school is open from Monday to Friday, from 12pm to 8pm, and on weekends from 9am to 12pm.
The team at Cape Performing Arts is led by Amy Jelfs Balbi, the Owner Director of the school. Amy has extensive experience in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap, having trained from the age of 4. She attended Newtown High School Of The Performing Arts and completed her Certificate 4 in Performing Arts at Brent St. Amy has performed at numerous corporate events, including the opening of Fox Studios and the launch of Super Bowl Australia.
Her passion for teaching and sharing her knowledge led her to run a successful dance studio in Randwick, Sydney, for 12 years before starting Cape Performing Arts.
Laura Kate Terry, a principal dancer with the renowned Byron Ballet Company, is also part of the Cape Performing Arts team. She fell in love with dance at the age of 14 and has since worked her way through the company, performing in various ballet productions. Laura-Kate trained in Cecchetti ballet and was selected to study full-time dance at The Queensland Dance School of Excellence.
