Welcome to Canvey Island Rugby Union Football Club, possibly the greatest little rugby club in Essex. With over 50 years of history, we are proud to be a part of the Canvey Island community, welcoming players and supporters from across the county and beyond.

Rugby is more than just a sport to us; it's a family, an ethos, a way of life. We are passionate about providing great opportunities for youngsters, men, and women to play rugby, as well as keeping fit, meeting new friends, and socialising. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the sport, we're confident you'll enjoy what we offer.

Affiliated to Essex RFU, we run two regular men's teams, a women's team called the Valkyries, a men's Vets team, and a Touch rugby team. Our first XV competes in Counties 2 Essex (South), while our second XV, known as The Stacks, competes in Merit League Division 3 East. In addition to our adult teams, we are proud to run the largest Youth Section in the Canvey Island and Castle Point area. With the support of a dedicated team of volunteers, we provide over 200 children with the opportunity to participate in and enjoy rugby at its best.

At Canvey Island RUFC, we believe that sports clubs are an integral part of the community. We often host events where members of the public are welcome to join in and experience the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of our club. We also collaborate with local community groups and clubs, hosting meetings and sessions, and getting involved in locally organised events.

Our Clubhouse is the heart of our rugby family. We constantly strive to improve our facilities, ensuring that individuals and families have a great place to relax and enjoy the hospitality we offer. Recently refurbished, our male and female toilets are finished to a high standard and are wheelchair-friendly. Our spacious hall, fully stocked bar with competitive prices, and fantastic bar staff create a welcoming setting for all our members and guests.

The Clubhouse is also a safe space for children, teenagers, and young adults to socialise and form new friendships.

Convenient parking just a few yards from the Clubhouse provides easy access for all. We also offer hall rental for parties, events, gatherings, and other local club activities.
