Welcome to Canterbury Squash Rackets Club, a premier squash club located in Giles Lane, Canterbury, that has been operating for over 55 years. With a membership of over 170 players, the club is dedicated to the development of the sport and offers a range of facilities and services for its members.
The club features four well-maintained armour coat plaster squash courts, each with its own viewing area for spectators. Additionally, there are separate changing and shower facilities for both ladies and gents, ensuring convenience and comfort for all players. The club also provides a lounge and bar area for socialising and relaxation after games.
Two of the club's main show courts boast glass balconies, offering enhanced viewing during events and matches. This allows spectators to fully appreciate the skill and intensity of the game.
Canterbury Squash Rackets Club prides itself on its well-stocked club shop, providing access to a variety of squash equipment and accessories. Members can also take advantage of the club's online court booking system, which allows for convenient booking of courts even when off-site.
The club organises club leagues for its members, with approximately 15 leagues in the summer and 20 leagues in the winter. These leagues cater to players of all standards and provide a valuable opportunity for players to improve their skills by competing against individuals with different playing styles and strategies. Each league runs for a month, starting at the beginning of the month and ending at its conclusion.
In terms of competitive play, Canterbury Squash Rackets Club boasts four men's teams that compete in the South East Kent League, as well as one team in the Northwest Priory Kent League. New members are encouraged to express their interest in joining these teams to the club captain.
The club also hosts a series of internal competitions throughout the year. These competitions are open to all members and culminate in a finals night in June, where winners in various categories are determined. With 10 different competitions catering to different age and ability groups, members have ample opportunities to showcase their skills and compete against fellow players.
Membership renewals are available for those interested in joining Canterbury Squash Rackets Club. By becoming a member, players gain access to the club's extensive facilities, leagues, competitions, and coaching services. Additionally, all club members are automatically registered as England Squash members, providing additional benefits including racket restringing.
