Calm Within Yoga, located in Chorley, is led by Jeanette Carr, an experienced Yoga instructor, Reiki Practitioner, and Holistic Therapist. With a passion for helping others find their inner calm, she focuses on the mind, body, and spirit, tailoring treatments to suit individual needs. With over 12 years of experience in holistic therapies and 15 years in the NHS, Jeanette also takes an interest in herbal medicine, homoeopathy, flower & gem essences, and essential oils. In addition to her work as a Yoga instructor, Jeanette is a Weleda Wellbeing Advisor, offering advice and demonstrations on the natural and organic cosmetics range from Weleda through skincare consultations and wellbeing events with groups.
Reiki Therapy is one of the services offered at Calm Within Yoga. Reiki is a powerful and effective form of energy therapy that uses universal life force energy for natural healing and grounding. Through palm healing or hands-on healing, the practitioner transfers universal energy to the patient to encourage emotional or physical healing. The treatment involves working with the energy centres of the body, known as Chakras, to promote feelings of calmness, relax the body and mind, relieve fatigue and stress, and strengthen the immune system.
Jeanette follows the principles of Reiki, including letting go of anger and worry, being grateful, doing honest work, and being kind to every living thing.
When booking a Reiki therapy session with Calm Within Yoga, a brief consultation will be conducted via Zoom to discuss current health and wellbeing, as well as expectations and questions about the treatment. During the session, clients are asked to sit or lay in a quiet and comfortable place, preferably with minimal distractions. Jeanette will set up the space with Chakra stones and a witness, such as a teddy given by her Reiki Master. She will then carry out the treatment by channelling the energy to where it is needed.
After the treatment, Jeanette will ground the client and provide a phone call to discuss the experience, answer any questions, and provide aftercare information.
In addition to Reiki therapy, Calm Within Yoga also offers Sound Healing with Forks. This therapy uses sound frequencies from tuning forks to work with the energy centres of the body, known as chakras, to raise vibrations, clear, cleanse, and balance energy. Sound healing with forks is deeply relaxing and works on a cellular level, bringing a sense of wellbeing, inner peace, and vitality. It can be beneficial for both humans and animals.
