This bone health exercise program, delivered on-site by experienced physiotherapists and exercise physiologists, aims to improve bone health and reduce the risk of fractures.
Osteoporosis is a condition that causes a reduction in bone density, leaving bones fragile and susceptible to fractures, particularly in situations involving impacts like falls. Commonly affected areas include the hips, wrists, and spine, and the consequences can be severe. In fact, over half of Australians aged 50 or older have osteoporosis or osteopenia, with more than 173,000 fractures occurring each year.
At Wellness Embodied, the bone health exercise program focuses on weight-bearing exercises that stimulate bone development, enhance bone health, and reduce the risk of bone density loss. Our expert physiotherapists and exercise physiologists lead the program and provide valuable guidance on exercise techniques to maximise effectiveness and ensure safety. Additionally, balance exercises are incorporated to enhance stability and minimise the risk of falling and fracturing.
Located at Wellness Embodied Scott Street practice gym, the bone health exercise program emphasises personalised care by limiting each session to a maximum of four participants. Despite its “high intensity” label, research studies have indicated that high intensity training is safe for individuals with poor bone health. Our friendly and professional physiotherapists and exercise physiologists are present onsite to offer supervision, ensuring proper form and reducing the risk of injury.
