Bryaar House Clinic is an alternative medicine practitioner and Tai Chi school located in New Zealand. The clinic offers therapeutic support through various holistic treatments, including the Japanese therapy called Seitai and Tai Chi Chaun.
Seitai is a Japanese therapy that is based on the principles of Acupuncture, but instead of using needles, it utilises Acupressure with fingers, thumbs, and elbows to stimulate the Acupoints. This therapy aims to realign the spine by adjusting the vertebrae back into their correct position, providing a comprehensive treatment that brings the body back into its natural balance. Seitai can help alleviate various types of pain such as headaches, migraines, neck stiffness, shoulder, elbow, and hand pain, backache, lumbago, hip pain, knee problems, and sciatica.
The word “seitai” translates to “putting the body in order,” and it can be understood as the body's ability to maintain health, or homeostasis, in Western terms. It focuses on the strength and function of the organs and musculoskeletal system, recognising their role in dynamic health. Seitai works on the principle that spinal lesions force the body to compensate for the imbalance, leading to pain and inflammation. Over time, this chronic state of affected tissue puts more stress on the area.
Seitai aims to restore the circulation of chi (energy) and blood to the affected area through acupressure stimulation, soft tissue massage, and spinal adjustments to restore harmony and equilibrium.
The clinic also offers the Lumbar Ease Pillow, a home help device designed to ease back pain and lumbar area issues. This lightweight and waterproof pillow combines ancient healing techniques with modern materials, making it convenient for use at home or during travel.
In addition to Seitai, Bryaar House Clinic specialises in teaching Tai Chi Chaun, which is a Chinese internal martial art. Tai Chi utilises chi, or relaxed power, rather than external physical strength. It emphasises relaxation of the mind and body to cultivate chi and learn how to use it effectively. Tai Chi is suitable for everyone, especially individuals recovering from illness or with injuries.
Colin, the instructor at Bryaar House Clinic, teaches both the Yang Short Form (24 step) and the Chen Long Form (68 step). The clinic offers regular weekly daytime and evening classes in Burnham, and private lessons for individuals and groups are also available upon inquiry.
With nearly 15 years of experience, clients have found relief and improvement through the treatments at Bryaar House Clinic. From addressing specific injuries to promoting relaxation and energy levels, the clinic aims to provide holistic support and enhance overall well-being.
