Shotokan Karate is a style developed by Gichin Funakoshi and his son Gigo Funakoshi, encompassing three main components: kihon (basics), kumite (sparring), and kata (forms). The training system includes a variety of techniques such as blocks, strikes, evasions, throws, and joint manipulations. The school focuses on developing both physical and mental strength in its members through intense training in a disciplined environment.
At Bright Martial Arts (BCEFC) Karate, karate is seen as more than just a punching and kicking sport. Classes are available for children ages 7-12, youth, and adults, as well as special sparring and weapon classes. The Little Dragon Class caters to children aged 6-8, while Youth & Adult Karate Class is suitable for those 9 years and above. Padded Weapon classes utilizing Arnis Sticks and Nunchucks are also offered for children aged 7-12.
