We ask that children be supervised at all times to ensure the safety of both the animals and the visitors. Hand sanitiser is provided throughout the tour, and we ask that visitors refrain from touching the animals unless instructed by our staff.

The tour concludes with a visit to the workshop, where guests can feel the alpaca fibre and learn how it is processed into yarn. Children especially enjoy taking turns at carding the fibre, making it a fun and educational experience for the whole family.

The sanctuary is not a petting zoo and does not offer alpaca walks, as the animals are never tethered to strangers. The sanctuary strictly enforces a no-refund policy for “no-shows” and cancelations with less than 48 hours notice, as all funds are essential for the well-being of the herd. Brae Ridge Farm & Sanctuary also prohibits the entry of dogs and other pets during visits to ensure the safety of both visitors and animals.
