Bowl Alberta is a renowned bowling club and sports complex in Edmonton, Alberta. Formerly known as the Bowling Proprietors Association of Alberta, this registered non-profit society consists of 50 member bowling centres across the province. The primary objective of Bowl Alberta is to enhance the sports of 5 Pin and 10 Pin bowling to improve the games for all involved parties.
As the first source of information regarding the bowling industry in Alberta, Bowl Alberta provides valuable information on purchasing a centre, setting up leagues and open play, and contacting bowling industry manufacturers and suppliers. The club raises funds through fees, dues, and assessments charged to its members, as well as through local fundraisers.
Bowl Alberta administers and coordinates various youth, seniors, and adult programs, leading to Provincial Championships and/or National Finals. Affiliated with Bowl Canada, the club also administers the Youth Bowl Alberta and the Alberta Club 55 programs, boasting a membership of 1600 youths and 2200 senior citizens. Each season, Alberta is represented at the National YBC Championships by a contingent of young bowlers and coaches, as well as at the Senior Citizens National Finals.
One of the highlights of Bowl Alberta's programs is the Youth Scholarships awarded at the YBC Provincial Finals, where $8,000 in Educational Scholarships are distributed in collaboration with the Bowling Federation of Alberta. Additionally, Bowl Alberta sponsors Provincial programs such as Bowl Alberta Singles, Doubles, and Team Championships, awarding around $25,000 in cash prizes.
