About
Andy from Bournemouth Swimming and Water Polo Club wants to share a quick note with all of you. Located at the Stokewood Leisure Centre in Bournemouth, this small and welcoming club is the perfect spot for swimmers of all ages. If you can swim one length unaided, they’d love to have you.
Andy notes that swimming is fantastic for building strength, stamina, and flexibility. Plus, it's great for self-discipline and determination. Beyond swimming, there are chances to dive into water polo, synchronised swimming, and even diving.
The club offers sessions for all levels. On Tuesdays, there are two swim sessions. The first, from 7:30PM to 8:10PM, suits juniors aged eight to 12. The second, from 8:10PM to 9PM, is for more advanced swimmers, usually aged 11/12 and upwards. If you're into water polo, there's a senior session from 9PM to 10PM for those typically aged 16 and older.
Thursday evenings are packed too, with swimming and junior water polo from 7:30PM to 9:15PM, open to anyone except absolute beginners. Andy highlights that water polo is a brilliant team sport that boosts health, stamina, and agility. All teams play in various leagues and competitions, so everyone gets a shot at competitive play.
