The Boulder Shack Mega Series is a thrilling competition event organised by Boulder Shack Climbing Gym in Southampton. This event is designed to showcase and challenge climbers of all skill levels, providing an inclusive and exciting experience for everyone involved.
The Mega Series takes place throughout the year, with qualification rounds happening every other month. During these rounds, participants have the opportunity to test their climbing abilities on a range of bouldering routes. With unlimited sessions and attempts, climbers can truly push themselves to conquer as many routes as possible. On average, each round of the 2023 series features around 50 routes.
At the end of the year, the top 6 performers in each category, based on their best 3 results, will advance to the IFSC isolation-based format competition in early December. However, even if you don't make it to the final, you're more than welcome to come and witness the amazing climbers who have qualified. Prepare to be inspired as they brave the challenging routes set by our talented competition setters. It's a day filled with excitement and a strong sense of community support!

The 2024 Mega Series rounds have already been scheduled, and we don't want you to miss out! The first round will take place from 1st to 9th February, followed by the second round from 10th to 14th April. The fourth round will be held from 12th to 18th June, and there will be a round in early August before the grand finale on 7th December. Please note that the competition is split by gender and age categories. To find out if a specific round will take place on a single night or span over a week, please refer to the official announcement for each round. The exact times for each round will be published in the month leading up to the event.
All rounds of the Mega Series follow the same scoring system, ensuring a fair and consistent experience for all participants. The age categories for the finals are the same as those for the preliminary rounds. To participate, all entrants, including juniors and adults, must be registered climbers at Boulder Shack. If you haven't registered yet, don't worry! Depending on your experience level, you may be able to register for free on the evening of a competition.
