Botany Bay Cricket Club Colts Section is the go-to place for cricket enthusiasts in the Enfield area. With a focus on creating a welcoming environment for boys and girls aged 5 and above, this club has everything young players need to develop their skills and have a great time on the field.
Whether your child dreams of playing competitive cricket or simply wants to learn more about the game and have fun with friends, Botany Bay is the ideal club for them. They offer competitive league and cup cricket for various age groups, including u.11, u.13, and u.15. And for the younger and older colts, the club organises friendly matches that allow players to showcase their talent.
The regular season runs from mid-April to July, ensuring that young cricketers have plenty of opportunities to improve their game. But the cricket action doesn't stop there! Post-season cricket is held throughout the Summer until the end of August, giving players a chance to keep practising and honing their skills.
For children aged 5-8, Botany Bay offers the All Star program, while 9-11-year-olds can join the Dynamos program. These programs, part of the English cricket Board (‘ECB’), aim to introduce children to the wonderful world of cricket. Led by a team of qualified coaches, including the renowned John Jarvis ('JJ'), who received the Middlesex and National Coaching Award in 2022, these sessions guarantee a top-notch learning experience. As an added bonus, all coaches have undergone rigorous DBS checks and possess valid Safeguarding & Protecting Children and First Aid qualifications.
Junior training takes place on Monday evenings, from 6pm to 8pm, specifically catering to the Under 11 age group. Matches are also scheduled on weekday evenings, starting from 6pm, and Sunday mornings from 10am. Botany Bay is proud to have seen many of their senior members emerge from the colts section, clearly demonstrating the fantastic opportunities available to young players.
