Dennis Bromage appreciates all the support from the sports community. Betws Table Tennis Club, located in Ammanford, is part of the Swansea & District Table Tennis League, affiliated with Table Tennis Wales and the Glamorgan Table Tennis Association.
The club's team plays in the top Division, using Morriston Leisure Centre in Swansea as their home venue, as they don't have their own premises. Catherine Jones is the 'A' Team Secretary and can be reached at 07709 350148.
The recently concluded Swansea League season ended on 21st May 2022. All games impacting promotion or relegation have been played. Congratulations to the Divisional Winners, Penyrheol A in the top Division and Penlan C in the First Division. Kudos also to Penlan C and Penlan D for securing promotion to the top Division next season.
Sadly, Port Talbot Gas 'B' and Cam Gears 'B' will move to the First Division next season.
The club has celebrated successes in the Welsh Closed tournament. Members from the Swansea League brought home multiple medals. Lara Whitton and Harri Docherty claimed winner's medals, while Catherine Jones won the Over 40s category. Lara also topped the Singles competition. Harri Docherty secured a second-place medal, and Dave Lloyd and Dennis Bromage earned third-place medals.
January 2022 brought challenges due to COVID-19 restrictions, but with the Welsh Government lifting regulations on group gatherings, the top Division and clubs such as Carmarthen, Penyrheol, and Penlan can now resume normal sessions.
Before these restrictions were lifted, premier Division matches faced disruptions. With more than 30 people per session, Dennis Bromage rearranged matches to be played at club grounds where possible. This helped postpone "derby" matchups until limits were relaxed. Thankfully, the regulations are now lifted, and the top Division is back to normal play.
With the league matches resuming, clubs adjusted to new COVID regulations. Indoor groups are limited to 30 people, affecting league clubs. Clubs with access to multiple evening facilities, like Carmarthen, Penlan, and Penyrheol, have managed well.
Dennis Bromage organised premier Division matches for teams from the same club to be played at their respective venues to comply with regulations.
Overall, Betws Table Tennis Club in Ammanford offers competitive play in the Swansea & District Table Tennis League. Although the club doesn't have its own premises, they use the facilities at Morriston Leisure Centre in Swansea.
