


Beaufort Badminton Club, located in Bristol, is one of the oldest badminton clubs in the country, having been established in 1919. The club caters to players of various skill levels, ranging from newer players to those at league and county standard. They have three sections within the club, each designed to accommodate the different standards of play.
In 2005-2006, Beaufort merged with Parkside Badminton Club to form Beaufort Park. The club provides competitive badminton at Kingsdown Sports Centre under this name. Beaufort Park, also known as the Top section, is renowned for its high standards and has regularly emerged as the winners of Bristol League Division 1 in various categories, including mens, ladies, and mixed. The Top section boasts club players who represent Avon County on their main team, as well as Avon Masters players, including national and international champions.
The Top section plays every Monday at 7. 30pm in Kingsdown Sports Centre in Cotham, Bristol.
The Advanced section is perfect for those players who desire a higher standard of play than what the General section offers. This section meets every Wednesday from 8. 00pm to 10. 00pm at the Shine Community Sports Hall.
The General section, which welcomes players from all standards except complete beginners, meets every Monday from 7. 15pm to 10. 15pm at the same venue.
A junior club, which adheres to Badminton England's child protection policy and has accredited coaches, also operates under Beaufort Badminton Club. The juniors play on a weekly basis during the season.
Feather shuttles are used in all sections of the club, ensuring an authentic and high-quality playing experience for all members. The club takes pride in its history and its commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for badminton enthusiasts of all levels.
For those interested in becoming a member, the club operates on a membership subscription basis. Fees for the 2023/24 season are as follows: Annual fee of 150. 00, Winter fee of 110. 00, and a Summer fee of 74.
00. Winter runs from 1st September to 31st March, while summer runs from 1st April to 31st August. The membership fees include Badminton England Club Player affiliation of 13. 50 and the Avon County Fee of 6.

Visitors are also welcome to join the club and play as guests. The visitor fee is 5, which is payable in cash on the night. Visitors have the opportunity to play three times before deciding whether to join the club. However, please note that there may be a waiting list for membership.
To register as a visitor, individuals must download the Spond app or visit their website to register themselves. Additionally, they must provide their name, email address, telephone number, and date of birth to be added to the club's visitor list. This information is necessary for insurance purposes and adherence to any COVID-related guidelines. Visitors will receive invitations through the Spond app when spaces become available and must confirm their attendance to secure their place.
