Bath Canoe Club

Welcome to Bath Canoe Club, a volunteer run kayaking and canoeing club based in Bath. The club offers convenient access to the iconic river Avon and provides its members with a range of benefits. For those looking to improve their skills, Bath Canoe Club offers free Monday night pool sessions where members can practise rescues or learn to roll. Additionally, members have access to excellent clubhouse facilities, including changing rooms, equipment storage, and a social area.

Bath Canoe Club welcomes paddlers of all skill levels, including beginners. The club's friendly and experienced coaches are dedicated to helping members learn and develop their paddling skills in a supportive, accessible, inclusive, and welcoming environment. The club offers a range of taster sessions, courses, and training opportunities to get new members started on their kayaking and canoeing journey.

The club also organises various trips, courses, and events throughout the year. Some upcoming trips include destinations such as Seaton to Lyme Regis, Combe Martin, Worms Head, Tusker Rock, and Lee Bay.

Membership and course options are available for those interested in joining Bath Canoe Club. Prospective members can start with a taster session, which is a 3-hour qualified instructor-led introduction to Paddlesports. This session takes place on the River Avon, starting from the club's clubhouse. Participants will earn the British Canoeing Paddle Start award.

Once ready to commit, individuals can become members of Bath Canoe Club and receive discounts on Paddle Discover and Paddle Explore courses. Membership includes free access to all club trips and events, weekly pool sessions, and use of clubhouse facilities and equipment. Children aged 6 and over can also join the club with written consent from a parent or guardian.

The club is entirely run by friendly volunteers, including qualified coaches who provide British Canoeing Paddle Awards between April and September each year. All necessary equipment is provided, and the club has changing rooms and showers available for member use. It is recommended to wear clothes that can get wet, and a wetsuit is suggested but not essential, depending on the weather.
