Aylsham Football Club is delighted to announce the remarkable achievements of three talented footballers from its ranks. Ben Bates, Dexter Jackson, and Alfie McCann have recently been scouted by Norwich City's academy, a fantastic opportunity for any aspiring footballer.
These three young players, who initially developed their skills in Aylsham's youth teams, have now joined the prestigious academy. The academy offers professional coaching and match experience at top-notch training grounds, including those of renowned clubs like Spurs, Arsenal, and Chelsea. Ben, Dexter, and Alfie have already showcased their talent on international stages, representing their country in countries like France, Belgium, and Poland. They continue to excel in their football journey, with Ben potentially heading to Finland in the near future.
Aylsham Football Club takes immense pride in nurturing and supporting promising young players who dream of reaching the highest possible level in football. Getting into the academy is an achievement in itself, and staying there requires unwavering determination and hard work. Aylsham FC celebrates the remarkable achievements of these young players and recognises the initial support they received from the club.
Ben, who joined the academy at the tender age of five, has been a part of it for an impressive seven years. Dexter, who joined Aylsham at the age of six, recently made his move to Norwich City's under-10s after a successful trial. Alfie, whose football journey began at Aylsham at the age of five, caught the attention of Norwich scouts during a summer tournament. He began training with the pre-academy squad in August 2019 and is now aiming to progress to the under-11s.
Aylsham Football Club aims to provide football opportunities for players of all abilities, from those who simply enjoy the sport to those with lofty ambitions. The club takes great joy in seeing players progress to academies or higher-level clubs, highlighting its commitment to player development. Former Aylsham players, such as goalkeeper Sam Blair and sports scholar Fletcher Dyson, have achieved remarkable success through their association with the club.
The youth section of Aylsham Football Club caters to children aged six and above, offering various programs, including the under-6 Mini Kickers and the under-18s, where players transition to adult teams. The club is fully aware that the success of its youth sessions and teams is thanks to the dedicated support of numerous volunteers. As the youth section continues to grow, Aylsham FC recognises the need for more coaches, managers, and helpers and actively seeks individuals interested in contributing to youth football.
If you are interested in participating as a player or volunteer, please visit the club's website or get in touch with Gus Bates at 07775 856879. Join us in celebrating the achievements of these young footballers and supporting the growth of youth football in our community.
