Phil Marriott and his team at Aycliffe Badminton Club invite players of all skill levels to join their vibrant community in Newton Aycliffe, near Darlington. Every Friday evening at Aycliffe Leisure Centre, players can enjoy games on 2, 3, or 4 courts, depending on turnout and team schedules.
In response to COVID-19, Phil has set up safety protocols to keep everyone protected. There’s no limit on player numbers, but if you feel unwell, please stay home. Payments can be made via bank transfer, though cash is accepted if you have the correct change. Remember to bring your own hand sanitiser and maintain good hygiene.
The Leisure Centre offers changing facilities and showers. Should you feel ill during play, let the staff know and head to the CAP office for isolation. PPE will be provided if needed.
The club is also part of the No Strings Badminton (NSB) programme, offering fun, low-cost 'pay and play' sessions for adults 16 and over, held every Friday from 6pm to 7.30pm at just £3 per session. No experience needed; just wear appropriate sports gear and bring a drink. Rackets can be provided.
