Tyler Wright has made waves both on and off her surfboard. From a young age, Tyler showed talent, becoming the youngest competitor to win a Championship Tour event at just 14. Growing up in Culburra Beach within a tight-knit surfing family, she has always been surrounded by the sport, with siblings like Owen, who also made a name for himself in professional surfing. Overcoming numerous adversities, including a challenging bout with chronic fatigue syndrome, Tyler's resilience has inspired many. Away from the waves, she is a staunch advocate for mental health, LGBTQ+ issues, and racial equality. As the first openly gay woman on the world surfing tour, she continually uses her platform to champion inclusivity and change. With her eyes set on an Olympic medal in 2024 and a future career in neuroscience, Tyler embodies dedication, passion, and the spirit of surfing excellence. Tyler's remarkable journey exemplifies how persistence and heart can overcome the most formidable challenges, making her not only a sports icon but also a role model for aspiring athletes worldwide.
