Biography
Tiana Echegaray’s journey into the boxing world began in 2019, initially as a way to stay fit. However, it quickly grew into a deeper passion as she realized the positive impact it had on her life. “Boxing was changing my lifestyle and instilling positive behavioural habits,” Tiana recalls. She didn’t just embrace the sport; she thrived in it, winning her first NSW title in just six months and her first Australian title in 2022, marking a pivotal point in her career. Tiana continued her winning streak, claiming another Australian title in 2023.
Determined and dedicated, Tiana secured her spot for the Paris Olympics by winning a gold medal at the Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands, in November 2023. Her victory with a unanimous points decision over Tonga's Hainite Kayla Tuitupou in the women’s 54kg division was a testament to her hard work and skill. As part of Australia's largest-ever boxing team to compete in the Olympics, Tiana is ready to make her mark on the world stage.
Beyond the ring, Tiana is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Fitness and works as a personal trainer and boxing instructor. Her story is one of passion, perseverance, and continuous self-improvement, making her an inspiring figure in Australian boxing.
