Biography
Teremoana Teremoana, a determined Queenslander, discovered his passion for boxing at the tender age of 12, thanks to his father. Growing up in Brisbane and with Cook Islands heritage, Teremoana showed promise early on, but it was the loss of his beloved grandfather in 2018 that truly ignited his drive to excel. Taking his namesake's legacy to heart, Teremoana decided to fully commit to boxing, vowing to make his mark in the sport.
By 21, he chose to channel his grief into a renewed dedication to his boxing career, knowing it was now or never. This pivotal moment led to a series of successes, including undefeated professional fights between 2020 and 2022 and clinching the Australian super heavyweight title by defeating Elvino Maroulis in 2023.
Teremoana's triumph at the Pacific Games, where he secured his spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics with a significant win over Samoan competitor Elijah Mercury-Leafa, marks just the beginning of his Olympic journey.
