Biography
Sam Williamson is one of Australia's rising stars in the pool, making waves as an exceptional breaststroker. He burst onto the international scene in 2022 at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where he secured a complete set of medals, including an impressive gold in the inaugural mixed 4x100m medley.
Sam's journey in swimming began before he could even walk, with early lessons thanks to his supportive parents. His passion and dedication paid off as he clinched gold, silver, and bronze medals in various events, showcasing his versatility and skill.
Building on his success, Sam continued to shine at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, where he contributed to Australia's medal tally with silver and bronze in relay events. The following year, at the 2024 World Championships in Doha, he claimed Australia's first gold in the 50m breaststroke, setting a new personal best and Australian record.
