Born on November 7, 2007, in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Ruien has already achieved remarkable success at a young age. At the age of 15, she showcased her skills at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, clinching bronze in the women's individual épée and contributing to Canada's silver medal in the women's team épée. Her journey continued with a bronze medal at a senior FIE World Cup event in Vancouver in 2023, followed by a strong performance at the Pan American Zonal Qualifier for Paris 2024.
