Biography
Milos Maksimovic was born in Subotica, Serbia and discovered his passion for water polo at the young age of 10. Inspired by Serbia's gold medal win at the Montreal 2005 World Aquatics Championships, he embarked on his journey in the sport. By 18, Milos went professional, representing his hometown team, VK Vojvodina, and later playing for various teams across France, Greece, and Montenegro. His talent and tenacity made him a standout player in Europe, and after a successful stint internationally, he returned to VK Vojvodina in 2019.
In 2022, Milos made a life-changing move to Australia, transitioning to the Australian Water Polo League by joining the ACU Cronulla Sharks. Simultaneously, he stepped into a coaching role at Scots College, sharing his expertise with young athletes. Upon gaining Australian citizenship, Milos debuted for the national team in 2023 in a series against Japan, securing a 2-1 victory for Australia.
His dedication and skill were on full display at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, where he competed in five matches. With 15 international caps and counting, Milos is poised to be a key player for Australia at the Paris 2024 Olympics, ready to make his mark on the world stage.
