Biography
Artistic swimmer Milena Waldmann, who earned the nickname “little mermaid” during her days at Hillcrest Christian College on the Gold Coast, has carved out an impressive career in artistic swimming. Training up to four hours a day, nearly every day of the week, Milena's dedication to her craft was evident from a young age. Her exceptional junior performances led to her selection for the national team, where she trains at the Artistic Swimming Australia National Centre of Excellence in Perth.
Milena's achievements include competing in the technical duet category at the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, finishing in 26th place with her partner Georgia Courage-Gardiner. She also represented Australia in the team technical event at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Fukuoka, contributing to a top-10 finish at the 2024 world championships in Doha.
A highlight of Milena's career came at the World Cup meet in Beijing in April 2024, where she helped the Australian team secure silver medals in team technical and team free, along with a bronze in team acrobat. As she continues to prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Milena remains a dedicated and influential figure in the world of artistic swimming.
