Biography
Jenna Forrester's journey from South Africa to the global swimming stage is nothing short of inspirational. Born in Sandton but raised in Brisbane, Jenna found her way into swimming through the influence of her older sister. She quickly showcased her talent, racking up a series of impressive achievements from a young age. At just 13, Jenna shone brightly at the 2017 Australian Age Championships, taking home nine gold medals and earning her spot at the World Junior Championships in Indianapolis. Her momentum continued as she secured a silver medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the subsequent World Juniors in Budapest.
Jenna's breakthrough came in 2021 when she clinched her first Australian national title in the 400m individual medley. Although she fell short of qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics, she bounced back with a strong performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the World Championships in Budapest. Her persistence and resilience paid off at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, where she narrowly missed the podium with a fourth-place finish in the 200m individual medley.
Back home, Jenna continued to make waves at the Australian Championships, winning multiple medals and solidifying her status as a key member of the national team. Her hard work culminated in earning her spot for the Paris 2024 Olympics by finishing second in the 400m individual medley at the Australian Olympic trials.
