Biography
Jamie Perkins is a young swimming sensation hailing from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Growing up, Jamie balanced her commitments between competitive swimming and surf lifesaving, demonstrating her versatility and dedication to sport from a young age. By the time she was eight, she was racing for both Mountain Creek Swim Club and the Alexandra Headland Surf Lifesaving Club. Her teenage years saw her winning numerous medals in surf lifesaving competitions, including an impressive haul at the 2021 and 2022 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.
Concurrently, Jamie's prowess in the pool was undeniable. She made a significant impact at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Hawaii in 2022, securing multiple podium finishes in freestyle events. The following year, Jamie continued to make waves at the 2023 World Junior Championships in Netanya, Israel, where she clinched the gold in the 400m freestyle with a standout personal best performance.
The 2024 Australian Championships were another milestone for Jamie. Competing against some of the best swimmers in the country, she reached the finals in three freestyle events and earned her spot on the Australian Olympic Team for Paris 2024. Jamie will be part of the 4x200m freestyle relay team, having shown her mettle in a fiercely competitive 200m freestyle final.
