Biography
Ella Ramsay, a dedicated and rising star in Australian swimming, is set to follow in her father’s Olympic footsteps. The young Queenslander first made waves on the international stage at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where she reached the finals in the 200m individual medley. Her progression in the sport has been nothing short of spectacular, consistently demonstrating her prowess in multiple events, from freestyle to breaststroke and medley races.
Ella's journey to the Olympics was inspiring and marked with significant achievements. Known for her remarkable versatility and determination, she claimed an impressive 14 medals at the 2021 Australian Age Championships at just 16 years old. Her momentum continued as she defended several titles at the 2022 championships. In 2024, she showcased her tenacity by securing multiple top finishes at the Australian Open Championships and eventually clinching her Olympic berth after an outstanding performance at the trials in Brisbane.
