Biography
Danijela Jackovich, originally from Chicago, Illinois, initially demonstrated her athletic skills on the basketball court. However, her true passion led her to water polo, propelling her to the global stage. She played for Stanford University and was a key player in the US gold medal winning team at the World University Games in 2017. Known for her aggressive play as a centre, Danijela also showcased her water polo prowess in Hungary and Spain. Now a central figure in the Australian Water Polo League, Danijela shines as a top scorer for the Cronulla Sharks in southern Sydney. Balancing her athletic career with her role as a biomechanical engineer, she expresses pride in representing Australia. Danijela made her remarkable debut for the Stingers at the 2024 World Championships in Doha, aiding Australia to a commendable sixth place finish.
