Arisa Trew
Arisa Trew (AU)
Biography
Arisa Trew, proudly representing Australia, has swiftly become a name to reckon with in the skateboarding world. Born in Cairns, Arisa moved to Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, where her journey in skateboarding began at the young age of eight. Initially, it was the cold waves that nudged her toward skateboarding. What started as a fun detour quickly evolved into a passion, as she began to conquer ramps and tricks with remarkable ease.
In June 2023, Arisa caught the world's attention by becoming the first female to successfully land a 720 in a competitive setting at the Tony Hawk Vert Alert in Salt Lake City. This incredible feat marked her rise in the sport and signaled her position among the elite. Arisa's explanation of the 720—coming up the ramp backward, spinning two complete rotations in mid-air, and landing forward—only adds to her legend.
Her world ranking shot up, but Arisa, still a teenager, takes it all in stride. Training under the guidance of coach Trevor Ward and balancing her education at Level Up Australia Academy, she has shown maturity beyond her years. Her dedication paid off when she clinched gold at the X Games in Ventura and topped the podium in Olympic qualifiers in Shanghai and Budapest, ensuring her spot for Paris 2024.
When she's not busy making waves in skate parks around the globe, Arisa enjoys surfing on weekends, staying close to her roots. Her sense of humor shines through in her friendship with fellow skater Ruby Trew—though not related, the two joke about being cousins, sharing a bond that's evident off the ramps.
Arisa’s journey is a testament to her resilience, passion, and the sheer joy she finds in skateboarding. As she gears up for Paris 2024, the world watches in anticipation of what this young prodigy will achieve next.
