Biography
Alexandria Perkins, hailing from the Sunshine Coast, has quickly made a name for herself in the swimming world. She first donned the green and gold at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where she impressively reached the finals in both the 50m and 100m butterfly events, and clinched a gold medal for her heat swim in the mixed 4x100m medley. Building on her momentum, Alexandria secured a silver medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the 2024 world championships in Doha. Her stellar performances continued at the Australian National Championships held on the Gold Coast, where she earned bronze in both the 100m and 50m butterfly. At the Australian Olympic trials, she finished a close second to Emma McKeon in the 100m butterfly, with a remarkable time of 57.42. Beyond her swimming achievements, Alexandria is pursuing a degree in physiotherapy at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She is also the great niece of Carol Bernoth, an esteemed athlete who represented Australia in high jump at the 1954 Vancouver Commonwealth Games and the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.
