Biography
Alana Sherman, hailing from New Zealand, is an aspiring rower who is set to make her mark at the upcoming Paris Olympics. Her introduction to the global stage began at the World Cup III regatta in July 2023, where she displayed promise by finishing sixth in the B Final alongside her teammate Kirstyn Goodger. Subsequently, Sherman joined forces with Haines to compete at the world championships, where their dedication led them to a commendable 13th place finish overall.
The duo's determination and perseverance shone through as they had to secure their Olympic berth by finishing second in the final at the Final Olympic Qualifying Regatta in Lucerne during May 2024. What sets Alana apart is her relatively short journey in the sport, having only embraced rowing during her second year at Auckland University. Her rapid rise and unwavering commitment are a testament to her passion and dedication towards achieving excellence in rowing.
