Alys Pardoe, the founder of Ashtanga Yoga Margaret River, discovered her passion for Ashtanga yoga in 1998 while living in England. After relocating to Western Australia in 2008, she continued her yoga journey and trained with esteemed teachers from around the world. In 2011, she began teaching after completing a year-long apprenticeship and started her studies in Mysore, India with Sharath Jois. In 2016, Alys received Sharath Jois' authorisation to teach, further solidifying her expertise in Ashtanga yoga.

Classes at Ashtanga Yoga Margaret River are held in the studio, known as The Shala, located at 64 Townview Terrace, Margaret River. With its tranquil and serene atmosphere, The Shala provides the perfect environment for a focused and immersive yoga practise.
