Area 63 Motorsports Park

Area 63 Motorsports Park, located in Fort McMurray, offers an exhilarating car racing experience for enthusiasts in the region. Originally built by the Clearwater Car Club in the 1980s, this 5/8 Mile dirt oval track is known for its high-banked corners and loyal crowds. In May of 2020, Area 63 Motorsports Park obtained the development permit to restore the facility and has since been working on various upgrades to enhance the safety and functionality of the track.

The not-for-profit volunteer team and sponsors have been dedicated to improving the track, including upgrading safety features, in-field pit design, and spectator area safety fences. Partnerships with local businesses such as Home Hardware, Sunbelt Rentals, and FirePros have been instrumental in making these improvements possible. Additionally, the water truck is sponsored and maintained by LaPrairie Crane, while Bishops Towing provides support in various aspects of the racing experience.

Area 63 Motorsports Park is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for motorsports enthusiasts to race and for the community to enjoy local activities. The track hosts various events throughout the year, including spectator tailgate parties where fans can immerse themselves in the racing experience. Plans for future upgrades, such as installing bleachers for spectators, are in the works, with fundraising efforts underway to support these initiatives.
