Ara Studios, located at 16 Duncan Road in St Andrews, Hamilton, is the home of modern yoga in New Zealand. Founded by a mother-daughter duo, this community-based yoga studio aims to make yoga accessible to everyone in an affordable, authentic, and modern environment.
The vision for Ara Studios began in 2015 in a humble Karate dojo, where $5 yoga classes were offered to make yoga accessible to all. Starting with just one class a week, taught by one of two teachers, the studio has grown over the years. Today, it offers a range of classes taught by a diverse team of experienced and passionate teachers.
At Ara Studios, they believe that yoga offers individuals the space to connect with themselves and others in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. The practise of yoga allows practitioners to move mindfully, explore their thoughts and feelings, and find balance in their busy lives. With seven years of personal yoga practise and four years of teaching experience in the community, the founders have witnessed the transformative power of yoga in bringing people together and fostering a sense of community spirit.
