Angels Dance Academy

Located at The Cloud Unit 6 Bakers Park Cater Road, BS13 7TT in Bristol, Angels Dance Academy is a renowned dance school that offers a range of dance styles including Hip Hop, Cheer, Jazz, Lyrical, and Ballet. With a strong focus on inclusivity and development, the academy has grown from its humble beginnings in the 1990s to become a highly successful and competitive dance and cheer academy.

Founded by Tracy Bedford, the academy was originally known as Ashton Angels. Tracy started with just six dancers, teaching in the southern part of the city. Her passion and dedication inspired and nurtured young athletes, developing them into talented dancers and coaches. Under Tracy's guidance, Ashton Angels transitioned into a competitive Dance & Cheer Academy, known for its ethos of “Total Inclusion.

In the present day, Angels Dance Academy is managed by Tracy's son, Charlie Bedford, and her best friend, Michelle Sergeant. Together, they oversee the academy and its 35 competitive teams, consisting of over 300 members. Stephanie Bedford provides valuable administrative support, and the academy is also supported by a team of assistant coaches.

The success of Angels Dance Academy is evident through its numerous achievements. The academy has participated in national and international competitions, representing the country at the IASF competition for 13 consecutive years. In 2008 and 2019, ADA Dark Angels were crowned “World HipHop Dance Champions. ” The academy currently has six teams with a bid to the next World Dance Championships, including teams in Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Jazz.

Notably, ADA is the first UK team to have an all-male hip hop team.

At Angels Dance Academy, the belief is that the biggest competition is with oneself. With a commitment to continuous improvement, the academy offers training in various dance styles, allowing students to explore their passion and reach their potential.

The academy is home to talented dancers like Ellie Homer and Evie Watts. Ellie joined the academy at the age of 7 and has progressed to dance for two senior teams in Hip Hop and Jazz. In addition to her dance achievements, Ellie also coaches at the academy. Evie joined ADA in 2013 and has had incredible opportunities, including participating in three World Championships and becoming a World Champion.

Like Ellie, Evie has also become a coach at the academy, witnessing the immense talent of the young dancers.

Angels Dance Academy continues to soar higher, nurturing young dancers and helping them achieve their dreams. With a dedicated team of coaches and a supportive environment, the academy strives to be the best it can be while instilling a love for dance in its members.
