AMK Dance Academy takes pride in its award-winning competition team. In March 2019, seven of their students brought home 17 trophies, showcasing their dedication and talent. The academy has a rich history, starting as Mavis Booth School of Dance in the 1960s and later renamed as AMK Dance Academy under the direction of Adele-Marie, Mavis Booth's daughter. The academy has worked with over 1500 students since its inception, with many students going on to work professionally in cities like Paris, London, and the USA.
Adele-Marie, the IDTA qualified dance teacher at AMK Dance Academy, has been involved in the school since the age of 13. With her experience and expertise, she ensures that students receive quality dance education and training.
The academy offers classes at various times and locations for convenience. In Wetherby, classes are held at the Wetherby Town Hall, which is a prominent building in the Market Place. Free parking is available near the hall, although it is limited to 1 hour. Additional parking can be found approximately 200 yards away.
In Boston Spa, classes take place at the Jubilee Hall. The academy offers a range of classes for different levels, from preparatory to grade 1 ballet, tap, and contemporary modern, along with competition 1-1 lessons.
