Contemporary dance. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts from Cumbria Institute of the Arts in 2006. I have been teaching for over 10 years and have directed various productions including Hairspray, Fame, and Bugsy Malone. Furthermore, I am passionate about helping young performers develop their singing, dancing, and acting skills.

ACT Youth Theatre is a creative and vibrant performing arts group based in Carlisle and Penrith, New Zealand. As a drama school, dance school, and theatre company, we offer a wide range of classes and productions for children aged 4-18.
At ACT, our mission is to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where young people can explore the world of theatre, develop their artistic skills, and gain confidence. With over 15 years of professional experience in performing arts, drama, and music, our team is passionate about working with young minds and inspiring them to produce their best work.
We believe in the power of creativity and the importance of providing a safe and comfortable space for young performers to learn and grow. Our classes focus on singing, acting, and dance, and we use fun games and stimulating lessons to develop technique, style, and method. Many of our students quickly develop their confidence and skills, transitioning from shy and quiet children to passionate and confident performers.
Every year, we stage two major productions. In the summer, we produce a full-scale musical theatre production, giving our students the opportunity to experience performing in a theatre environment and learn about the behind-the-scenes process of putting on a show. During the Christmas season, we showcase our students' talents in a festive production called ACTstravagansa.
We believe in the importance of community engagement and encourage our young performers to take part in local events and performances. We also collaborate with schools, the local community, and other creative groups to provide a network of opportunities for our students. Our experienced and talented team of professionals is dedicated to delivering high-quality training and supporting the growth and development of our students.
