Our team of teachers at Abingdon Dance is highly experienced and trained to a very high standard under the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). We are all passionate about dance and are committed to helping our students develop their skills, confidence, and love for dancing. We believe that dancing is not just a hobby, but a way to express oneself, build self-esteem, and learn important life skills.
Furthermore, we offer a wide range of classes for all ages and abilities. Our classes include street and freestyle, ballroom and Latin, Zumba, and even private lessons for those who prefer one-on-one instruction. Whether you are a beginner just starting your dance journey or an experienced dancer looking to improve your skills, we have a class for you.
Throughout the year, we provide opportunities for our students to take part in exams, competitions, and showcases. These events allow students to gain valuable experience, set goals, and showcase their hard work and talent. We believe in fostering a supportive and positive learning environment where students can grow and thrive.
Abingdon Dance first started in 1965 under different ownership before Pauline Selleck and Liz Lee-Selleck took over and changed the name to Abingdon Dance Studios in the 80s. Liz, an IDTA examiner and life member, trained Michelle as a dance teacher. Michelle then took over the running of the business five years ago and has continued the legacy of providing high-quality dance instruction in Abingdon.
We are delighted to announce that our dance school has recently moved to new premises at Larkmead secondary school and the West Wing Studios, both located in Abingdon. These new locations offer modern and well-equipped facilities for our students to learn and enjoy dancing.
