Abbotskerswell Cricket Club prides itself on being a welcoming and inclusive club for players of all ages and abilities. Whether you're a seasoned cricketer or just starting out, there is a place for you in our club. We offer a range of teams and opportunities for both men and women to play cricket.
Our club has a long and rich history, dating back to our formation in 1898. We have since grown and developed into a respected and successful club in the Devon cricket community. Our 1st XI competes in the Devon Cricket League A-Division, showcasing our commitment to excellence on the field.
In addition to our Saturday teams, we also have a 2nd XI competing in the E-West Division and a resurrected 3rd XI playing in the H-West Division. We are proud to announce the addition of a Women's Softball Cricket team, who are currently the Devon County Softball Super-8's and Devon County Softball League champions.
At Abbotskerswell Cricket Club, we understand the importance of nurturing young talent. That's why we have age-group cricket teams for school-age children and offer regular coaching sessions for them. We believe in providing a supportive and positive environment for young cricketers to develop their skills and passion for the game.
During the winter months, we participate in the South Devon (Paignton Community College Hub) Indoor League. This allows our players to stay sharp and maintain their skills throughout the offseason. We also organise social cricket events on Sundays and midweek, including limited overs matches and T20 games. Our club's social cricket evenings are a hit with members of all ages and abilities, providing an opportunity for families to come together and enjoy the sport.
In recent years, our men's teams have faced some challenges due to the impact of Covid-19. However, our 1st XI showed resilience and successfully retained their A-Division status, while the 2nd XI encountered relegation. Our Women's softball team has continued to thrive, winning tournaments and leagues, and establishing themselves as champions in the Devon County Women's Softball League.
