White Tiger Kung Fu is proud to be associated with the rich history and traditions of Chinese healing and martial arts. The system has its roots in the Shil Lum Temple in the Fukien Province of China. Fung Do Duk, a high-ranking teacher in the temple, escaped the burning and destruction of the temple and sought refuge with Doo Tin Yin, the sole holder of the Doo family's healing art.

In exchange for his life and freedom, Fung Do Duk passed his knowledge of martial arts to Doo Tin Yin, who became the 1st generation Doo family inherited Grandmaster of the White Tiger Kung Fu system. Doo Tin Yin's influence as a high-ranking official allowed him to arrange for Fung Do Duk to gain admittance to the O'mie Mountain Daoist's temples in the Sichuan Province of China. There, Fung Do Duk further developed his knowledge of ancient Daoist internal arts, healing, and self-preservation.

With his vast knowledge and experiences, Fung Do Duk travelled throughout remote China, learning and collecting fighting and healing skills from various tribes and villages. He combined and perfected this knowledge to create White Tiger Kung Fu, an ultra-internal system that emphasises both physical and mental development.
