The Waurn Ponds Cricket Club was first known as University Cricket Club (“UCC”) following its formation in 1989, and was the brainchild of two (now former) Deakin Uni Academic staff, James Campbell & Rob Sutherland. Following a name change in the mid 2000s to Waurn Ponds Cricket Club it has grown into a large community club with four senior men's teams and a developing junior programme which includes Milo In2 Cricket on Friday Nights.
