Welcome to Viewbank Tennis Club, serving as your community Tennis Club for more than 50 years. Located in Melbourne, Australia, Viewbank Tennis Club has played an active role in the local community, and welcomes members of all abilities, genders, ages, and backgrounds.
At Viewbank Tennis Club, we offer various external competitions for men, women, mixed, and juniors. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, there's a competition for everyone. If you prefer a more relaxed and social hit, our internal social competition is perfect for you. We have been running a successful Twilight Competition on Thursday nights for men for nearly 50 years, and we have recently introduced a Women's Internal Social Round Robin open to anyone who identifies as female.
Our tennis club features 8 courts, including 2 en-tout-cas courts and 6 synthetic clay courts. Court 3 boasts new LED lights, and we are working towards upgrading the lighting on all other courts to LED. By doing so, we aim to minimise our environmental impact and promote energy efficiency. The clubhouse is equipped with bathrooms, kitchen facilities, a first aid kit, and an automatic defibrillator.
Additionally, we have a BBQ area with a pavilion shelter, creating a comfortable space for socialising.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming clubhouse and facility. Regular cleaning is carried out to adhere to current COVID safe requirements, and hand sanitiser is provided for the use of members, guests, and community visitors. Parking is available at both the top and bottom entry gates of the tennis courts, although currently only the top gate is in use.
Viewbank Tennis Club not only provides high-quality facilities and courts but also fosters a fun and safe environment for players of all levels to enjoy tennis with their family and friends. Our club follows the guidelines set out by the Victorian State Government, Tennis Victoria, and the Banyule City Council to ensure the safety and well-being of our members and the community.
As an inclusive club, Viewbank Tennis Club acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people as the Traditional Custodians of the land. We pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, both past and present, and welcome individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, abilities, sexual orientations, beliefs, ages, and genders to join our vibrant and diverse community.
